Privacy policy

In short

• Your files never leave your device: your browser converts them itself.
• No account, no cookies, no advertising, no selling of data.
• Only technical connection data (IP address, browser) is processed, to run and protect the site, plus your email if you write to us.

Your files

The files you add are read and converted locally, by code running in your browser. They are not sent to any server, neither ours nor anyone else’s, and they disappear when you close or reload the page. We never have access to them.

Data we process, purposes and legal bases

• Connection data (IP address, browser type, requested page, date and time): processed by our host, Cloudflare, to display the site and protect it from attacks and abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working site (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Audience measurement: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies or identifiers and only gives us aggregate statistics (page views, country, device type). Legal basis: legitimate interest.
• Messages: if you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering requests.

You are not required to give us any data. Connection data is technically necessary to display the site; writing to us is optional, but without your email address we cannot reply.

How long we keep data

Connection data is kept by Cloudflare for a limited time, under its privacy policy; audience statistics are aggregated and cannot identify you. Emails are kept while we handle your request, then for at most 24 months.

Recipients and transfers outside the European Union

Only the publishing company can read your messages. Our technical providers are Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, security, statistics, receiving and forwarding email) and Google (Gmail, where forwarded emails arrive). Every conversion module is hosted on formatomat.com: none is loaded from another site. These providers may process data outside the European Union, including in the United States. Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC participate in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework; Cloudflare is also bound by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Cookies and storage in your browser

The site sets no cookies. It keeps a few preferences in your browser’s local storage (light or dark theme, a dismissed share message) and may keep a copy of its own files so it works offline. None of this is sent to a server; you can clear it all from your browser settings.

Advertising

The site shows no advertising at the moment. If that changes, this page will be updated and your consent will be asked before any advertising cookie.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict its processing or to receive it in a portable format, and you can object to its processing, by writing to [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy, where the company is established, or the authority in your country, such as the CNIL in France.
